Mariama Wurie is an international development strategist working at the intersection of education, gender equality and social inclusion. Her experience spans programme design and delivery, policy, partnerships and strategic communications, alongside an earlier career in journalism.
Mariama holds an Ed.M. in Learning Design, Innovation and Technology from Harvard Graduate School of Education, an M.A. in Media, Communications and Critical Practice from the University of the Arts London, and a B.A. in International Development and Political Science from McGill University. Having grown up across nine countries on four continents, she brings an international perspective grounded in her Sierra Leonean identity.
About the practice
Based in Freetown, MWC guides organisations working in Sierra Leone and across Anglophone and Francophone West Africa. Mariama leads the core work, bringing in suitable associates when assignments require additional specialist or language expertise.
